MINCE MACARONI STEW

This is a recipe which was frequently made by my mom when I was a kid.
Yummy mince cooked to perfection with soft succulent macaroni. Real nostalgic memories!

This is a good comfort food recipe which is a no-fuss, down to earth, simple meal by itself.

Ingredients:
½ kg mutton mince
200 gms green peas
100 gms elbow macaroni
2 onions – chopped
2 potatoes – diced
1 raddish – diced
2 tomatoes – chopped
2 carrots – diced
3 green chillies – finely chopped
5 cloves garlic – chopped

Masala:
2 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp garam masala
Salt and pepper to taste

Method:
Prep all the required ingredients.

Start by heating some ghee/ vegetable oil in a thick bottomed kadai. Once the oil is heated, add the cumin seeds. Then saute the onions, garlic and chillies till the onions slightly caramelize.

Add the diced potatoes and mix well

Add the remaining masalas and mix well. Let this fry for around 2 minutes on low heat.

Add the mince to the kadai. Mix well.

Finally add the tomatoes, green peas, carrots and the raddish. Mix well.

Add salt to taste and mix.

Add around 500 ml of water and cook it on low heat till the mince is cooked. Add the macaroni to the dish. Cover and cook till the macaroni is cooked thoroughly.

Garnish with some chopped coriander.
Enjoy this scrumptious comfort food by itself or you can serve it with pav/ flat bread.
